Korean Stars Shine At Music Festival In Hong Kong

The two K-pop bands popular in Asia, Big Bang and EXO not disappoint his fans as it took home the top prizes at the 2014 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA 2014), held in Hong Kong December 3.

The Mnet Asia Music Awards is one of the main celebrations of K-pop music held annually by CJ E & M, one of the largest entertainment companies in Korea through its music channel Mnet.



The 2014 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA 2014), one of the main celebrations of K-pop music held annually, is held in Hong Kong in December 3. This year the event was sponsored by UnionPay International, a subsidiary of China UnionPay (CUP) focusing on growth and support global business of UnionPay.

Was held in Seoul annually since 1999 to 2008. Hong Kong was the host city since 2012. The event has attracted a wider audience East and Southeast Asia.

Stars of China, Korea and other Asian countries such as Andy Lau, Choi Ji-woo and Song Seung Hun, attended the celebration this year in Hong Kong.

The three major awards, including Song of the Year, Album of the Year and Artist of the Year in Asia, went to Taeyang of Big Bang and EXO. Taeyang also won the award for Best Male Vocal Performance.

The event features 18 awards, including Best Male / Female Group, Best Global Group - Male / Female, Best Male / Female, Best Dance Performance Men's / Women's groups, Best New Male Artist, Best New Female Artist, Best interpretation Band, Best Rap Performance, Best Vocal Performance Solo, Best Group Vocal Performance, Best Music Video Artist of the Year, song of the Year and Album of the Year.

This year the event was sponsored by UnionPay International, a subsidiary of China UnionPay (CUP) focuses on growth and support global business of UnionPay. The CUP cardholders worldwide enjoyed exclusive privileges advanced ticket for the ceremony. Their services for the ceremony this year received positive reviews especially in Hong Kong and South Korea.
