Thousands Of Young Music Fans Gather For Leeds And Reading Festivals - And It Shouldn't Be Too Muddy

  • Around 200,000 revelers, mostly teenagers, went to Reading and Leeds festival for three days this weekend
  •       despite the rain in Leeds today, the site looks like it will be dry. The reading will also bask in the sun, forecasters say
  •       Reading is the oldest festival in the world of music, launched in 1961 organizers created a second front in Leeds in 1999
Thousands of music fans have started their pilgrimage to Reading and Leeds for two of the major highlights in the festival calendar issues.

The vast majority of the 100,000 revelers each site are in their teens, with many days celebrating GCSE results today.

And it seems that your celebrations will not be dampened as both festivals look set to dodge the rain.

Despite the rains this week, Leeds looks set to stay dry until next week, and Reading also enjoy the sun, forecasters say.

Hunters in hand: These dressed in classic reading festival girls uniform with shorts and Hunter wellies in case of rain - but it seems to be dry and sunny

Pilgrimage: annual rock festival Reading - the oldest in the world - has become a ritual for adolescents following a level and GCSE results, released this week

Equipped: 200 miles northeast of Richfield Avenue Reading, these girls had to walk Bramham, near Wetherby, for the twin festival in Leeds

Annual Festival of Reading rock - the oldest world - opened its doors at 8 am today, with revelers pour into buses, coaches and trains that carry camping equipment - trucks and beer.

It was an identical scene 200 miles north east, with festival goers loading your bags in shopping carts as feed to the farm in Bramham, near Wetherby.

Plenty Going On At Firefly Music Festival

OutKast - Big Boi (left) and Andre 3000 - by 80,000 music fans gathered at the Woodlands at Dover International Speedway for the Firefly fest.

DOVER, Del. - While waiting to reach the transcendent moment - Andre 3000 of Outkast, performing "Hey Ya!" at the apex of the headlining set Atlanta rappers gathered Saturday at Firefly Music Festival - 80,000 music fans gathered at the Woodlands at Dover International Speedway the weekend was a lot of fun to fill time.

Firefly, which has doubled in size since its inception in 2012,
was launched this year on Thursday, with 20,000 campers created for discreet opening indie-rock band Local Natives California and Philadelphia singer-songwriter Amos Lee.

On Friday, the festival - which has been extended from 154 pleasant, if a little dusty, acres - accelerated with rock headliners Arctic Monkeys and Foo Fighters, whose leader, Dave Grohl, pleased the crowd with tales of Delaware Rehoboth Beach Vacation, and an encore with the Rolling Stones and Alice Cooper covers.

I did not get there until Saturday, and I took nine decent acts excellent in eight hours, the best of which were Beck, Tune-Yards and OutKast, with Brit-rockers Kaiser Chiefs, identical Canadian twins Tegan and Sara and folk band Austin Wild Child is also highlighted.

Besides music on seven stages convenient, Firefly, which was concluded on Sunday with Jack Johnson headlining, always plenty of opportunities to spend time assistants and / or spending money for much of the crowd of twenty years crouched in the Woodlands.

I did not relax in a hammock or get my booty moving in the area of Silent Disco, where dancers DJs listen via headphones. But I did meander through the arcade with pinball machines free pleasantly sunny afternoon, and watched the football World Cup, while sampling in the tent Firefly Ale Brewery, which serves beers Milton, Delaware, Dogfish Head craft beer barons.

So how were OutKast, was on his first tour properly concerts since 2002? The meeting Andre 3000 (real name: Benjamin) and partner Big Boi (Antwan Patton) apparently had a difficult start in Coachella, California, in the spring. Two months, however, the wrinkles have been ironed out.

The duo left that still bears the appropriate "BOB (Bombs Over Baghdad)" from Stankonia 2000 and played a packed with hits, strong short game in hip-hop, always in the indie-pop festival. "I swear to God, it seems like we were just 17 years," said Andre 3000, getting misty while wearing a blonde wig and a shirt that said. "Children of the Corn Bread"

As always, Big Boi and 3000 Firefly worked separately and together. Mini-game Big Boi covered with irrefutable funk of "The Way You Move". The crowd drifted away during the segment tremendously arty Andre 3000 - until the delirious "Hey Ya!" interpretation.

With flat-brimmed black hat and matching outfit, Beck could have passed for an Amish farmer. Although he is on tour behind the new phase of the beautifully calm morning chicha, the Californian music with more tools than a Swiss Army knife reached the firefly to rock the party.

Backed by a band of highly adaptable, which launched hits like "Where is," blew his harmonica on "One Foot in the Grave", covered Michael Jackson "Billie Jean" and slowed briefly for the new album "Blue Moon "and a sublime" Lost Cause "Sea Change 2002. Hopefully, he'll play more tomorrow when leading Xponential Phase Camden Festival in July.

Tune-Yards' Merrill Garbus led a band of nearly-all-female translated the polyrhythmic joy of living of their new Nikki Nack perfectly. Kaiser Chiefs Ricky Wilson joined the crowd in singalongs of "I Predict a Riot" and "Never Miss a Beat." And Wild Child attracted listeners to the stage of forest fetching voice and violinist Alexander Beggins Kelsey Wilson.

Wild Feathers, Nashville, LA 1970 proved competent rock country in the cafeteria, where Smallpools impressed with tight indie-pop. Tegan and Sara was loud and catchy songs of the three I took before screwing Beck, and the synth-pop duo Miss Brooklyn Sr. was mediocre.

Grace Slick's Festival Memories: Fearing Orgies And Getting Lit

Jefferson Airplane singer recalls his first experiences Monterey, Woodstock and Altamont

While at Jefferson Airplane (later Jefferson Starship and Starship), Grace Slick made history as one of the first women to front a rock & roll. She also made a different kind of history as one of the few artists to appear on the three most famous and infamous rock festivals: Monterey International Pop Festival, Woodstock and Altamont. (The plane even played the first game of this type, 1,967 of Fantasy Fair and Music Festival Magic Mountain.)

45 years of festival fashion : look back on everything from Woodstock EDC

Now 74, Slick Rock left & roll in 1989 and has since devoted himself to art ; she has painted more than 500 pieces , which have been shown in hundreds of exhibitions and exaggerated as much as $ 25,000 each . (She’ll be showing and talking about his work at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles, where Slick lives, June 17.) As the festival season this year starts here and in Europe, Slick looks back in the early days, often tumultuous and how she survived.

Before 1967, there were no rock festivals, so how you and the plane will feel when he was asked to play the first couple?

I had gone to some of the Monterey jazz festivals, so I knew the place. Good to play. Monterrey was so well run and pretty much everything that was offered in the booths was handmade, and you can get to a bathroom in less than nine hours. The whole area in the rear of the stage was wandering people. There were drinks and marijuana and hit and everyone was interested in. Everything worked.

As for the other acts, tellingly Monterey was for you?

We had heard all these people on the record, but I had never seen or Ravi Shankar who performs lives. We were all on the side of the stage behind the black curtain, and we were as excited as the audience. Hendrix was doing his hands with flames like a strange kind of spiritual Creole, and it was just amazing to watch. Put down your guitar and set it on fire, we were like, "Whoa!”

I've always wondered: Does the smell of smoke from the guitar?

He did not. The fire was not large enough to smell.

And what about the Who?

We knew that things were going to break. Guitarists of our group were shrinking, since we have that kind of money [to replace instruments]. But I thought it was wonderful. I do not own any of the machinery.

Everyone keeps talking about Otis Redding.
I had never seen before Otis either. I thought the stage was going to fall in when stepped on his foot. It was not so much pressure on stage, it was the power of his personality and the power of the songs and joining his band.

So Monterey was a good experience for you, compared to the festivals that followed.
Oh, yes. We were all excited about Woodstock. Thought it would be a version of the east coast of Monterey. In this country, we tend to admire big. Half a million people -Ooh! Then Joni [Mitchell] wrote: “We are stardust / we are golden “and shit. I love Joni, but I did not exactly have the same opinion about it - I thought, “This is great but it is very run down.” We were supposed to go on stage at 9pm.

Helicopters had to come to us because the roads were so fucked up that you could take a car. The helicopter arrived at the hotel and took whatever the band was going in half an hour. So we left around 8:30 and kept changing things. They said. “Cannot we go at the time “We were on stage all night? I do not remember going to the bathroom or want. We were smoking dope and drinking wine and sitting around. It was a very big step. Then ten came and told me: “You’re playing in an hour.” Then we played something like 7am. It was light. Rock & roll is not playing at 7 in the morning!

Egyptian Pop Star Chaaboula To Sing ‘I Hate Israel’ At Morocco World Music Festival Featuring Alicia Keys, Justin Timberlake

Egyptian singer Shaaban Abdel Rahim , known as Chaaboula , hate Israel plans to sing the famous song that ended his contract McDonald in 2008, the World Music Festival Mawazine in Morocco , which also offers international stars Alicia Keys, Justin Timberlake , Ricky Martin and Kool and the Gang.

Site News Egypt Youm7 reported Saturday that Rahim said it will open its concert with hate Israel.

Arabic entertainment news site quoted Rahim FilFan saying he’ll be wearing a suit with the colors of the Egyptian flag and sing their ode to former defense minister and now Egyptian presidential candidate Abdel Fattah El- Sisi, Sisi love.

Rahim was quoted as saying by FilFan is “honored to be the only Egyptian singer at the festival this year is the first time I participated in such a big event.”

The festival, expected to attract over 2.5 million visitors nine days and a hundred concerts in Rabat and Salé suburb, is considered one of the biggest music festivals in the world.

According to festival organizers, Rahim worked in a laundry where she sang her friends until the 1980s, when the owner of a record store offered to produce their first album. After decades of Egyptian pop, Rahim returned to political issues.

In 2008, Rahim lost a contract to appear in commercials for McDonald for McFalafel after Jewish group’s human rights, including the Anti -Defamation and the American Jewish Committee League, alerted the company to his song, which was accused of inciting hatred of Israel and Jews.

Rahim had another hit, Hey Arab Leaders, in which he accused the U.S. and Israel of being the mastermind of the 9-11 attacks on the World Trade Center in New York.

The ADL has posted his lyrics (see below) and Palestinian Media Watch their music video labeled as examples of anti-Semitism and incitement to hatred in Egyptian popular culture.

On Sunday, Rabbi Abraham Cooper of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, told The Algemeiner he hoped other international musicians at the festival used their stage time to promote peace instead of hate.

“Remember that Alicia Keys delivered a message of peace last summer in Tel Aviv, despite the BDSers hypocrite hysteria," Rabbi Cooper said, referring to the struggle against Israel ' boycott, divestment and sanctions " activists who tried to pressure to cancel Keys his performance. " hope she and the other Western talent to urge the organizers to make the festival a zone free of hate and counter the anti -Israel hate his music. "

As Chaaboula , Cooper said " may want to upgrade your tired lyrics . "

" He writes one of the reasons he hates Israel because it is the Golan," Cooper said. “Have you checked with the constant flow of severely injured Syrians reach the Golan to Israel “without question “the hospital who hates Assad Israeli doctors save their lives? “?

"Hate in your neighborhood is all too abundant food. How about trying the old Beatles All you need is love" for a change,” Cooper asked.

Read full letter below Chaaboula hatred , as was announced by the ADL :

hate Israel

I hate Israel, and I 'd say that if I was asked ,
Even if I will be killed or go to jail as a prisoner .

I love Hosni Mubarak because he is so smart (literally, because your mind is large) ,
When taking any action, believes that awareness .

I hate Israel, and I do not like the ruins.
(Israel) loves and hates the ruined building.

I love Yasser Arafat - he's my favorite man.
The Egyptian nation is sad and shame covers me.

I love Yasser Arafat, and hatred of Israel,
Shimon (Peres) and Sharon.
I love ' Amr Moussa, for his statements balanced.

What is the sin of children - those who die every day?
People are taking up arms, people are holding clubs.

I hate Israel - all we are angry - al- Quds is in our mind. When ad - Durra (Muhammad ad - Durra - the boy who was killed in Gaza - CD) died, the President was sad,

He told the newspaper : "Who is satisfied with the humiliation? "

I hate Israel, and I do not like Ehud Barak
since he is disgusting, and everyone hates you.

All time forgets Egypt, and is very patient,
But when Egypt gets angry, turns back to the ambassador.

I hate Israel - ask Shahid blood.
Ask those who crossed (the Suez Canal) in the glorious October.

I hate Israel because of southern Lebanon,
al- Quds and Iraq,
Syria and the Golan.

'Hey Arab Leaders

" ... The two sides of the same coin, America and Israel.

They made the world a jungle and lit the fuse.

America spread its wings, does not care about anyone.

No one can stop it, no one can reach it.

Soon he (Bush) will say Iran, then he will say Syria
but he says nothing about [North] Korea.

About [the twins] Torre, O people

of course! His friends [Israel] were brought down.

What!! Terrorism [visual Shows Sharon pushing the button]
how many years are left?

For the U.S. and Israel acting like thugs . . .

South Korea Pop Dance Group Performs To Classical Music

The B -Classic Music Festival Belgium produced the video composer Antonín Leopold Dvorák Symphony No. 9, “published in 1893.

Festival aims to expose modern audiences for classical music.

This is not a music video in the classic sense. But it works for classical music.

A classical music festival Belgium is encouraging new ways of promoting classical music and produced their own video of five beautiful young women in cheerleading outfits and short shorts.

Members of the dance group from South Korea “Waveya “make a variety of suggestive movements were probably not what the composer Antonín Leopold Dvorák had in mind how his “Symphony No. 9 " would be honored one day.

But the B - Classic Music Festival is inspiring new audiences to hear the power of this music and give the same recognition as the most popular pop or other modern forms of music.

At the end of the video is a note to educate the public about the fact that "only three minutes listened to classical music.”

“Classical music is not static or serious," the group said on its website.

The first music festival is an ode to the Czech composer; the group says was a superstar in his day when he finished the symphony in 1893.

“Wherever he went, the atmosphere changed and people would be ecstatic. When his symphony orchestras directors and everyone got published," said the group. “The great composers as Dvorak did write their music for everyone. Their goal was to give people a break, going to escape reality and to move them. "

Ultra Music Fest 2014's Friday Highlights: Tiësto & Icona Pop Duet, Waka Flocka Flame Crashes Carnage’s Party

Tiesto performs during the Ultra Music Festival at Bayfront Park Amphitheater on March 28, 2014 in Miami, Florida

See clips of Eric Prydz, Crizzly and more are made on the first day dance fest this year.

From pillars of radio rappers under the bumper, Ultra Music Festival was an event that encompasses everything, when it began on Friday (March 28) at Bayfront Park in Miami, with a variety of genres in music electronic dance (and beyond) all united by a appreciative, loving crowd.

With almost 60 artists - including Maestro EDM Zedd, psychedelic rockers MGMT , the legend of DJ Carl Cox, creators of viral hits Los Chainsmokers and many more - performing at Ultra 7 stages , it was impossible to catch every set- shaking hand ... but it sure tried . Here are our highlights from day one.

- Most artists would be happy to release a new collaboration with Matthew Koma during his headlining performance and call it a night. But Tiësto is not most artists. The consummate showman increased volume

Friday night when he brought the ladies of Icona Pop on stage to perform their song “Come on. " It was a moment that could only happen during the week in the world of music dance is in the same city (the DJ reportedly invited pop stars to join him just 24 hours before their time).

- Jumping on the decks, barefoot, with his hand in the air, Kaskade was on top of their game Friday night, dancing while playing presiding recent tracks like "Last Chance" crowd. It was not until a year ago that Kaskade released the title track of his Grammy-nominated album "Atmosphere " on Ultra, and in a way, tonight was a full circle moment for the house DJ west coast.

The same could be said of Eric Prydz, who returned to Miami after a victorious performance harassed in 2013. With LED display holograms and a stage that is said to have been designed around Prydz own innovative images definitely showed that he is one of the greatest talents of the DJ world.

Fans Complain Corporations, Big Names Subvert SXSW Music Festival

AUSTIN, Texas | rapper Schoolboy Q a few years ago had a great time in his first South By Southwest, but was angry this year, he played a series of concerts at the annual conference and music festival .

Everywhere he turned, he stood to his fans in locations outside the corporate brand, adorned unable to give because they had a formal invitation.

“It’s stupid. , You changed everything. Actual company," said while preparing for a show on Saturday. "I will never go back, if they do not, where the fans are in. I'm tired of the implementation and see my fans out the door.... That is not fair to change. Was not that about the fans any more, it comes to money, which can give you the best view. "

As South By Southwest be closed 28 Year Sunday, the participants discussed the growing influence of business in the conference. Critics say that SXSW has evolved over its core purpose: support new bands get discovered. Instead, they say , the media attention has shifted on celebrities like Jay Z , Kanye West, Lady Gaga , Coldplay, Ceelo Green, Rick Ross, Keith Urban and many more whose intense promotional appearances become well established over by international brands.

Is bad compared to 1 percent in miniature, and this change in the environment is relatively new. Even those who say that the spotlight before, it is always found hard to break.

"It feels different South By us," said Adam Thompson, guitarist and singer of the Scottish band We Were Promised Jetpacks, who made his fourth appearance at the festival. “It feels like the first two were fantastic helping us, concerts and people notice about us. A too silly thing like our name was funny, so people come to see us.

"We are just back from a nice trip with some beautiful places, and now we’re kind of thrown by the walls sometimes you think.” I would in a big club with a sound instead of playing not in a position on the stage to hear. ... "

An hour later, the band had technical and sound problems after hastily assembling your team, but left the place with a few fans in three days, fed by his fourth five sets.
